STUCCO
Used by the Romans, stucco is made from lime putty and marble dust (or sand) to form sculptural relief on internal or external walls. This hand modelled plaster work can be applied to exposed stone and brick work, used to frame rooms with run cornices and mouldings or combined with fresco and sgraffito techniques for an intensely layered decorative effect. Cara also makes stucco mirror frames and other plaster art works that can be hung singularly or as an assemblage , as shown in Wall hangings.
